Field Trips
- Field trips by students should be taken only when they relate to the instructional program of a given class or group of students.
- Please complete the following steps PRIOR to submitting your request for a field trip via PLZ:
- Written approval from the principal. Please complete this link with the following information included:
- Educational objectives identified
- Tentative date set
- Supervisory help identified
- Students who will be allowed to attend
- How will classes be covered for those students who do not attend the trip?
- When will students eat lunch? Who will pay?
- How will the trip be paid for?
- Once written approval has been granted from the principal, please enter the field trip request in PLZ, along with the following information:
- Confirmation letter received from host
- Bus arrangements completed
- Consent slips returned (all signed) and given to the financial secretary
- Copy of the itinerary given to the financial secretary
- Money collected for trip (and insurance if applicable)
- Other teachers informed
- Informed cafeteria manager if students are to miss lunch
- List of students attending the trip
