Field Trips 

  1. Field trips by students should be taken only when they relate to the instructional program of a given class or group of students. 
  2. Please complete the following steps PRIOR to submitting your request for a field trip via PLZ:
    1. Written approval from the principal.  Please complete this link with the following information included:
      • Educational objectives identified
      • Tentative date set
      • Supervisory help identified
      • Students who will be allowed to attend
      • How will classes be covered for those students who do not attend the trip?
      • When will students eat lunch? Who will pay?
      • How will the trip be paid for?
    2. Once written approval has been granted from the principal, please enter the field trip request in PLZ, along with the following information:
      • Confirmation letter received from host
      • Bus arrangements completed
      • Consent slips returned (all signed) and given to the financial secretary
      • Copy of the itinerary given to the financial secretary
      • Money collected for trip (and insurance if applicable)
      • Other teachers informed
      • Informed cafeteria manager if students are to miss lunch
      • List of students attending the trip​
